Under the leadership of CEO Dr. Wei Junqing, a Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) alumnus and former Delphi/Aptiv executive, KargoBot has carved out a unique trajectory in the competitive Robotruck market. By the end of 2025, the company reported significant commercial milestones:
- Fleet Size: Approximately 400 autonomous trucks in commercial operation.
- Operational Reach: Over 35 million kilometers of cumulative mileage.
- Freight Volume: 1.2 billion ton-kilometers completed.
The “Hybrid Intelligence” Solution: Breaking the Impossible Trinity
KargoBot is the industry’s first to advocate and deploy a “Hybrid Intelligence Platoon” model, specifically designed for bulk commodity logistics (coal, ore, etc.) in Western China. This model utilizes a lead truck driven by a human pilot, followed by multiple L4 autonomous trucks that mirror the leader’s movements.
This approach addresses the “Impossible Trinity” of safety, intelligence, and economy:
