
Kai-Fu Lee’s Sinovation Ventures has made a USD$10 million angel round investment in Jingling, a tablet maker that focuses on developing Linux-based tablets and laptops.
Founded in June 2020, Jingling focuses on developing Linux-based devices and operating system. The company launched Jing OS, the first Linux-based tablet system, soon after the rollout of HarmonyOS 2.0, offering developers across the globe a Linux-based tablet operating system. It is reported that Jing OS is a fully functional Linux operating system based on Ubuntu.
Jingling’s first device JingPad A1 tablet, which runs with an ARM architecture, has already registered a shipment volume of over 500 units in a pre-sale and is ramping up interest through a crowdfunding campaign, according to a news report from TechCrunch.
