Enlight Media Surpasses 100 Billion Yuan Market Cap as Chairman’s Wealth Soars

At 9:53 a.m. on February 14, shares of Enlight Media (SZSE: 300251) surged 18.8% to 34.38 yuan per share, propelling its market capitalization above 100 billion yuan for the first time, reaching 100.9 billion yuan.

Chairman Wang Changtian emerged as the biggest beneficiary of the rally. According to Tianyancha data, Wang holds a 35.53% stake in Enlight Media, valuing his shares at over 35.8 billion yuan at current prices.

The stock’s meteoric rise follows the blockbuster success of Nezha 2: The Devil’s Child Rampant, a film produced and distributed by Enlight Media. Since its Lunar New Year release, the movie has shattered box office records, driving the company’s shares up more than 260% from their closing price of 9.53 yuan on January 27. Notably, Enlight Media’s stock hit the daily 20% upper limit for four consecutive trading days through February 13.

In a regulatory filing on February 13, Enlight Media disclosed that its shares had experienced cumulative price deviations exceeding 30% over two trading days (February 12–13), triggering a stock volatility alert under Shenzhen Stock Exchange rules. The company confirmed no undisclosed material information affecting its stock price and reiterated that Nezha: The Devil’s Child Rampant, released on January 29, 2025, remains in theaters with strong performance.

As of February 13, Nezha 2 grossed 10 billion yuan (including presales), becoming the first film in China and Asia to cross the 10-billion-yuan threshold. It now ranks third in global animated film history and 17th in worldwide box office rankings. By 9:45 a.m. on February 14, the film’s cumulative revenue climbed to 10.178 billion yuan. Industry trackers project further growth: Lighthouse Pro forecasts a final tally of 15.038 billion yuan, while Maoyan predicts 16.03 billion yuan.

Enlight Media’s valuation milestone underscores the explosive synergy between cinematic success and investor confidence, cementing its position as a powerhouse in China’s entertainment and media landscape.
