Chinese and American scientists have developed a material for a fast-charging lithium-ion battery

Slow charging speed and short-range are the main factors restricting the development of electric vehicles. Recently, Ji Hengxing’s team of USTC(University of Science and Technology of China), UC(University of California), Los Angeles and institute of chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences and other agencies cooperate to develop a new type of black phosphate composite materials. Charge nine minutes using it, the equipment can recover about 80% of the electricity, make both fast charging, high storage capacity, long life advantages of the lithium-ion battery become possible. The work was published on October 9 in SCIENCE, an internationally respected academic journal.
